    *** This weekend's purchase - 1975 Honda Z50 ***

Found this just a couple of blocks from my house. $500.00 cash took it home.

What do you guys think?? Needs a few things addressed but nothing that can't be fixed.

You hit an awesome deal on this one. Ive seen bikes like this going for well over $500 and this one looks to be in great shape.

Thanks guys - funny thing is - this bike found me.

I have a wanted to buy ad posted on Kijiji (Canadian version of Craigslist) for Honda atc70s'. I get a reply asking if I would be interested in a Honda Z50. I thought what the heck - send me some pics. I then found out the bike is a few blocks from my house. I usually have to drive a half a day to go look at potential purchases.

Little history on this Z50. The gentleman I purchased this from was a young looking 71 years of age. He bought this Z50 for his 7 year old son back in '75. They used it on their farm. His son is now 48. The gentleman's grandkids were done riding it also. The bike sat out at the cottage in a shed for the last 13 years - ridden a handful of times. He thought it was time to let it go. You should have seen this 71 year old man test driving it for me. He went up and down the street smiling and laughing each time he past by me. We loaded it onto my truck. His smile then vanished. The bike had been in his family since new. I shook his hand and told him it was going to a good home. I told him I was going to detail it and fix the little things that are wrong - bent gear shifter, bent foot brake, missing headlight lens, missing headlight switch on the handlebars, etc, etc. Once cleaned up and detailed - I will take it by for him to have a look at. He said he will be waiting.

LOL - hey, I am Canadian - lots of pucks around here. Kick stand is a little sloppy - needed something to help prop the bike up.

    Cheers.

    *** UPDATE ***

Detailing and clean up coming along well. Lots of OEM parts installed. For example - NOS front shock assemblies - coming from Honda dealership in Japan - mine were bent when disassembled. New OEM handlebars, fenders, grips and the hard to find, missing correct OEM headlight switch - found one NOS - got lucky. Way more $$$ into to this than it is worth. Just like the rest of the toys in the shop.

Hell yes! What a sweet, little bike. And looks like it's well worth 5 bills.
Are you going to put some miles on it or....?
Have you seen one with a side-car, yet?

    P.S. Just brought home a '72 ct70, last week. It's nice, with 1k mi.
Imagine the fun two kids would have.
