    Aluminum 250r Swingarm Identification

This swingarm was on Ebay and has a few issues, but for the money I figured it would go along with my Privateer theme for my 250r. I'm preparing my bike for display in my new garage and will be adding a Selvy Cylinder, rear Tri Trac's, and this shorty aluminum swingarm.

Has anyone ever seen one like this. I know it's not a Calfab or Paul Turner. Years ago I saw a swingarm made by RPM, but I can't find it.

Xowner said it looks like his RPM swingarm. His uses the same chain slider.

Maybe an old school roll design? I would call Paige at roll and send her some pictures to see if Doug could ID it.

I remember ready Marty Hart liked the shorter arm on his ATC. I've ran two plus 2's and a stocker and prefered the shorter arm better than the extended. The extended arm launched nicely but since I ride up on the tank, it unloaded the rear tires causing traction issues. I never got to try a shorter arm before I quit racing.

I was 80% sure this was an RPM and after taling to Xowner, we're 95% sure it is an RPM swingarm that was probably made for a TRX. This one is a -1.

I would have loved another Calfab for it, but I didn't want to pay Calfab money for a conversation piece. This arm will look cool polished up in between the Hoosiers.

I'm not sure if Roll ever made an aluminum arm, but they might have??????

@manbearpig - Marty Hart used a -1" swing arm all thru 1986 on his 250r

I run a -1 and I really like it. I get great hookup with my kart tires.

Well.............it's not aluminum, it's steel. I don't really want a steel arm, but I would like something other than stock for display purposes.

It's not a Laeger's or a RPM according to both of those companies.

I think I'm going to fix a couple of cracks and powder coat it.

What color should I go with?

I'm thinking stock Gold with factory Pro-Link decals? I think it would go with the whole Privateer look I'm going for.

I've had a couple of guys say it looks like an old JP Racing arm before they became LSR, who knows if this is correct, but that's what I'm going with for right now. I think I'm going to go with white powder on the arm, and blue JP racing decals from Blue27 on the side and leave it at that. I've got almost everything ready to be put on the bike to create a replica of what a "Privateer" 250r would have looked like back in the day. I'll start a new thread that shows the installation of the Selvy's cylinder, Hoosier Tri Tracs all the way around, Bassani exhaust, 38mm PJ carb, and swinger. I'm a finishline axle and oem short track shrouds away from the finishline of period correct parts.
