Bought stem adapter from Randy last year to be used on the recreation project of my Valley Brake & Wheel Helm & Son 205 alcohol motor ATC110, sorry I sold, it’s a long ongoing process collecting parts. Temporally assembled on the frame to mock up my machining of the upper triple clamp to compensate for fork tube rake angle. As the 70, 90, 110, 185, & 200’s ATC steering stem / frame housings are @ Ύ inch taller than the 1st Gen ‘81 250r front end. Offset bored the upper triple clamp and machined the stem nut to register to this bore. Accomplished 2 things, allows the triple clamp to set flatter on the nut and eliminated the clearance of the original stem clamp bore.

Randy one additional modification I made was not welding the adapter to the lower triple. Drill and tapped the bottom of the stem for a bolt with large flat washer, then drilled for a dowel pin to keep stem from turning. Didn’t have access to weldor at the time and wanted to assemble as seen posted above, trying to decide what color to powdercoat triple and frame. Build thread to come later after locating a few more motor parts and a white 250r 1st gen front fender. Oh the tires are NOS from the Farrow brothers and wheels from Jwheeler.

Yes, thats called a Dutchman. I've done that to fix 350X cylinder heads with broken off exhaust stud castings.

They hold great with an interference bore/stem and a dowel pin.

    Great work bud!!
