Is this atc70 rear basket rare????

I bought 4 atc70s to build 2 good ones for my sons. This basket came in the deal. I can't find another anywhere online yet. it's bends and fitting screams it's Honda oem aftermarket products. Someone tell me what I have. It's meant for the 70 no doubt and not home made.

Definitely custom built for the 70, and nice work! No offense to your opinions, but there are more than a couple guys here that could build that rack. It's not not neccessarily a mass produced rack. But, maybe it is! I've never seen one like that on a 70.

I am not ruling out it being home made, but you can tell each bend was done on a precision machine or jig. I do tons of metal work and the attention to detail is just mind blowing. each inch on the mesh is welded. when I pulled it off the 70 I ask the guy how long it had been on there and he said since he bought the bike in the late 80's. No offense taken on my opinion. Thats why I ask, because I cannot find one. it must be home made with much love. But I cannot find a single splatter or grind mark. Looks like it came off an assembly line. I can post better pictures if anyone wants. I wasn't bolted down in that picture just sitting on it. the rear mount even used the U bolts like the 110's did on the factory grab bar for back rack mounts.

Ok here's a few, not bolted just sitting. . It does show age it not rusted through or beat up. Either way I am going to clean it up. Paint it and slap it on with some new plastics for him lol

It does appear to be factory made doesn't it?! Not nearly as many hobbyists had the tools in the 80's that would be necessary to fabricate that rack. Looking forward to some 70 guys to come along and see it!

It Appears to be factory BUT, I cant find a single picture of one on the net. just weird. If someone did build it they was good is all I can say and they cared about the overall look. Thank you on the big red complement, I restored it for my wife and freshened up the 86 350x for myself. Only thing left on my sons 70 is new plastic and decals.

    Thanks for the replies gents

No one can dispute that it's a very well built rack and looks good on there. But I would beg to differ that the engineers at Honda would want that much potential weight away from the centre line of a rear axle on a trike as small as a 70. My $.02. Kids tend to carry anything a basket can hold; not a good combo on a small trike.
