Looking a little closer at your photos there are a couple of other things you might want to check.

Your rear brake adjuster lock nut seems to have come loose and it looks like your rear sprocket holder has some shiny spots on the inside of it on the posts that the bolts thread into. That usually means that either the axle carrier came loose at some point and started rubbing on the swingarm, or your axle bearings are shot and it's causing the axle to pull against The swing arm. You'll be able to tell for sure by looking at the swingarm for any gouges. If in fact the sprocket carrier has been rubbing against the swingarm you need to take a good look at it and make sure that it isn't cracked. I don't think by the slight amount of rubbing that I think I can see that you would have damaged the swingarm yet.

That makes sense about the rear brake because it stopped working properly on the last ride.... i only had to barely touch it as the rear brakes would lock up....

I am planning on rebuilding (or replacing if need be) all of the brakes so hopefully that will solve that

As far as the axle, when I get home next week I will be tearing it down more and I will post more pictures of the swing arm. I hope it is ok... the axle is getting replaced anyway as well as the sprockets and everything else back there but I hope to keep the swingarm

I bought a newer kickstart for my tri z, you can have my old one for $30.00 shipped. It is pretty loose, it flips out when you ride...but its a stock tri z kicker.

There are three NOS ones on Ebay right now . The one below being the "cheapest" at only $165.00 including shipping, which is a whopping 42.107% less than your new headlight is gonna cost ya if that's any consolation.

Nothing is "wrong" with it but I want to get a +1-+4 adjustable axle for a wider stance

You might want to consider a set of offset rims instead. Besides being a lot cheaper than an axle, it's something you can change in a few minutes. Not sure what your trails are like, but I find my stock axle with the rims mounted in the widest position to be a little to wide at times down here.

I'm pretty set on a new axle, however I had not even considered your idea. What wheels do you have?

Here are some more "before" shots.... getting it stripped down. Taking plenty of pictures to avoid any problems getting it back together :-)

Well... last night really sucked. Trying to get the swingarm bolt out for over an hour.... heated up the bearings.... greased it..... oiled it..... beat the absolute crap out of the and managed to move it all of 1 inch..... then, the worst happened.... I missed and hit the crank case.... put a nice pretty hole in it, and of course covered the garage floor with oil. If thats not bad enough, the thing fell over and landed on the water impeller cover and broke it. I found a new impeller cover only cost 16 bucks... the crank case cover however I can't find one anywhere. If anybody happens to have one, please let me know.

To show the power the edit button possessed by all non internet degenerates, I'm deleting my posts in hopes of getting this poor guys thread back on track. Too bad a mod has to perform these duties for others without such powers.

    .
You did not break the worst possible piece on the bike . It would be far worse to break your engine cases . If the cover is aluminum you can have it tig welded no problem.

KROIL Oil is the best oil to soak a rusty item with to get it to move.
