I bought my Sprock basket for around $80 but that was before they were so rare. If you get into a bidding war on ebay you'll probably pay more than that. Hinson billet baskets go for around $200. I believe that Talon basket was right at $200.

$80.00 would be awesome.... the guy wants $250.... so, after I get the rest of the motor stuff paid for, I might do it. I checked with Talon, they don't have one for the Z.

Worst I ever saw was Raffa's 490 when it puked a rod out at the invasion....now that was some damage.

Ok, I just got another item for my build in the mail today.... this is something I was not planning on getting until towards the end of the build, BUT, I had an opportunity to get it for $30.00... I absolutely had to go ahead and do it!

This is the orange (or "amber") rear light by Rigid called the Chase. I wanted to have a blinking light as a brake light, and when I was referred to Rigid for my headlight, I found that they also make this Chase... which is a 5-in-1 light that does everything and more than I need.... and they offer it in Orange! So, I knew I had to have one.... MSRP is $249.95..... and I just ran into the deal of the century on it 2 days ago... and now its here.

I will post some pictures of the box and what is in the box because while I have been shopping for them nobody anywhere posts the watts/amps/lumens of it, but they are printed on the box... so, here is what you get. I can't wait to plus it up and see how it looks!

you need to figure out how to pop that lens out and have it say tri-z or.....buh-bye!

Looks like you have a sleeve in that cylinder that might not have been port matched as well as it could have been. There may be a couple of ponies to be had in there.

So that only has 2 lights, red and white, therefore it looks like the red can only be used as a running light or brake light but not both and that it is not extremely bright like you wanted.

Don't be so sure they don't make one for the Z. I'm sure Yamaha used that basket on their motocross bikes and while they may only list it as working on the motocross bike, it is compatible. I believe that thread I linked to earlier had a list of compatible parts. You can also use online OEM parts finders to see if the same part number is used for the Z and say the 1984 YZ 250. Lastly, "ponies" means horsepower, i.e., if you clean up the ports and match them you'll get more horsepower.

Ok I will check to see what other baskets are compatible and check back with Talon..... and Ah..... ponies yes I should have known :-)

And Barnett... this is for the rear, not the headlight. It has 5 different functions.... running, brake, strobe, and reverse (which I can wire up on a switch in case I need to see behind me for some reason) and a courtesy light which i probably won't even hook up. Check this youtube video out..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C65m4_Ed68 Mine is the "Amber" color (at least its supposed to be, I haven't hooked it up to the truck to test it yet) Still planning on the SR2 light for the front.
