Gun laws do not stop criminals. BULLETS do.
They look pine to me...
I've seen sintered bushings before, but this is the first time I have seen splintered bushings. I would be afraid that they maple to one side.

This post has me stumped. It’s amazing what one nut can create.
Fir starters the sap that installed those had the grain running the wrong way and everyone knows that you’re supposed to leaf the bark on the exterior and use only well-seasoned stock. It’s no wonder his business never branched out.
Anyway, don’t get to knotted up over this, I’m sure you’ll get to the root of the problem soon. Assuming that the cord on that unit is good maybe you can just spruce it up with a little sanding. Good news is that if your bushs are a tad loose you can try soaking them in water overnight.
PS. Put some pics up of your tree wheeler!
It sucks to get old
I'm surprised the maker of these fine wooden products hasn't branched out into other more lucrative areas, such as sprocket/chainsaw sets, piston dowels, and inverted fork triple trees.
