    200x exhaust options?

I am a new owner of a nice 1984 honda atc200x. I would like to change the exhaust. The only option I can find is a complete DG system. I really dont like the sound of dg. Too lound where I ride. I would like to find a supertrapp system. Or ideas if other pipes from other stock bikes would work. (Frankenstein system) Thanks.

Yup those dg exhausts are loud, especially if you have neighbors nearby.
Theres not much available unless your patient w/ebay. My dg i took off 2- days after install but i always wanted to try
Putting supertrapp endcaps on it. It would be almost to easy but i never got around to it. Just wanted to see if it would change the tone/quiet it down some.
Well i always have pics so Click image for larger version.

Thats an idea! I have a supertrapp muffler from a xr400r! Maybe its time to do some cutting and welding!

I used a muffler off of a Yamaha blaster with some cutting and welding on my 200x, works great and is quiet. I would say get a bigger muffler off of an atv and make it work. Good luck

ID:	238859Here's the one on my still in progress autox. It was on it when i bought it. It was made by a guy in Hays, KS. It's almost too loud with a helmet on so I know it's too loud for me. Also it doesn't have a spark arrester so eventually I'll go the TRX450 route.

So, you are saying that the trx450 stock header and muffler is somewhat of a direct bolt on?

Not the header. the 450 muffler and mid pipe are what you need. Mine was a White Brothers, it had the muffler with two inserts on the back, one was an open tip and the other called a quiet tip. It sounded perfect with the quiet tip in. the mid pipe slid into the front of the muffler and the ID of the mid pipe was a slip fit over the head pipe. I cut the head pipe and mid pipe to get about a 1" slip fit and the welded the two together a ground it down. looked like one continuous head pipe that would come apart at the front of the muffler. It looked big in the pics but it never hit anything or got in the way.

Thanks for the info. Your header looks larger diameter that stock. Your work looks like it came factory!
