    Bent Forks: To Straighten, or Not To Straighten?

    My '85 350X has bent forks. Going to send 'em out to RaceTech to be outfitted/modernized. They tell me that they can straighten them, so long that they are not too bad (which I don't believe they are), but I don't want them to be a recurring problem. Is straightening them worth a shot, or will they just bend again? Should i be looking for new forks?

    I've done it many times with no issues. As long as the chrome is in good condition it should work great.

    Yea i have straighned ones that had a1/4 runout with out a problem. So I wouldnt worry about it

    I straightened mine with my harbor freight 2 ton press. I used the curved bending adapters from my harbor freight tube bender so I could do it without making any marks on them.

    Looks like it's doable. I'm going to have them straightened.

    They will bend again if you do the same thing you did that caused them to bend in the first place.
