    200x 350x speedometer Drive gear

    Quick question I have two speedometer Drive gears one I believe is for a 83-85 200x and the other one I believe is a 350x so my question is how can you tell them apart ? also the worm gear on One turns counter-clockwise and the other one turns clockwise. Will upload pictures as soon as I get to the shop

    Nothing stamped on them, 350x should be HA5.

    No, they are not always stamped because I have a few of these. (I lost your phone # BTW).....

    If you stare down into it and stand in front of the trike, your looking at a right hand drive and if your rolling the tire forwards the cable drive in that drive box will rotate clockwise to be correct.

    Remember, your in front of it and the 200X drive will be on your right, but sitting on the trike it is actually a left hand drive.

    With a 250R and a 350X, the caliper is on the left so the drive is on the right. Those are typically much harder to find/buy etc etc and there are no other options with street bikes and gears etc because you can't seal them correctly and/or buy the gears inside to run a 23.5" tire.

    The left hand drive sitting on the trike is for a 200X because a 200X has a caliper on the right hand side. Be careful though as the LH drives include big Reds etc etc and are for a 25" front tire, not a 23.5".....

    They (200X, big reds etc) will be located on the left and rotate CW if you are STANDING IN FRONT OF IT LOOKING DOWN.... The ones that look like a "b" are left hand drives. A "d" is the 250R/350X or a right hand drive.

    Sorry if this is a bit confusing, I need to figure out how to post pics with talp-a-talk so it's understood better.

    I have 250R/350X big red, 200E, 200S drives but listing them here doesn't work pricewise, I just use EBAY....

    Can the gear drives be rebuilt and resealed in any way? I have a 185/200s and a 200x gear drive that have come apart in two pieces.

    Yes, they are very serviceable (and thee most neglected part by far).
    Most likely the large internal snap ring (circlip) came out (difficult to remove by hand so NO idea how it would have come out in the first place)

    Is there any other bike that more common that has a drive gear that will work for the 200x ? Because as you can see in the picture it's been snapped off

    You can likely change out the worm gear. You would just have to find one from a bike that will work, that could be expensive. If you want to sell the 350x one PM me. Thanks.

    That's cool. Where can these components purchased? I am not in a hurry as these are just extras.

    Good luck, I have found nothing that fits, nothing. I can spot the right worm gear a mile away and all the street bike worms angle is cut opposite and less teeth than required.

    I simply got lucky to purchase many drives at decent prices.....

    That's a shame, I know a cb350 worm gear will work in a 250es. I had to do that to mine as a moron (Louis Rego) on eBay sold me a 200es one goodluck with it mate anyway and let me know if you want to part with the 350x one.

    Anyway Matt I'm actually going to keep the 350X gear for my project that I am currently Gathering parts for

    Too easy mate, I have a 250sx one on my 350x and it works fine though it would be nice to have the right one for it. I'm pretty sure all the internals are the same on these gearboxes. The only difference being the left and right hand worm gear and pinion gear.

    I will say this, the 200E, 200, 200S are exactly the same and for a 25" tire, I have 4 of them.

    I have 5 or so 350X or 250R drives (ONLY 4 SALE ON EBAY).

    The 200X SHOULD be different. I just won a whole 200X kit in the Hondaline box from DONZI on EBAY yesterday.

    Next week I will know every housing, every gear and every application!!
