What did I just buy? Said in the ad that this header was made by HRE and made to let you bolt on a 450r muffler. I searched and searched for more details but couldn't find any. Anyone heard of this before? Did HRE make it? Is it stainless or mild steel? According to the ad there is another one-anyone know who owns it or how good it is?

My guess is mild steel. Try and stick a magnet on it. Some stainless is magnetic though.

No the ad says it was made by HRE. From the pic I thought it looked stainless and was hoping someone here could verify for me. I haven't heard about HRE making a pipe before and I could only find mention of its existence, no details. That's what I'm looking for.Originally Posted by atcmatt

HRE makes amazing parts. I had been in contact with him as I wanted that header. it is 1.4375 I.D. and is sectional, mild steel and powder coated.
BUT, after many messages, I found out it is made specifically to go into a 450 can. He could not assure me it would go into my Supertrapp and I don't want to cut it and harm the PC, weld on it etc etc....
It's worth every dime!!
