I’d definetly have steve or a machine shop do the outer case boring for the 87 shaft. Steve, I didn’t need to bore the outer case for the 87 “seal” itself to fit the 86 outer case. This is the seal that fits for the conversion (only boring the shaft hole)

Well its been a long time since my last update but I finally had a swingarm built last year. Today I dropped it and the engine mounts, taillight brackets and caliper mounts off to get chrome plated. Now I'm looking to have the frame powder coated blue to go with the rest of the theme. I just have to make a few small repairs and it'll be ready.... although my pocketbook isn't.

Got my front tire in today. It'll be a good fit on my 10 inch aluminum wheel I picked up a couple years ago. I'm gonna buy another set of hoosiers to go on the rear and I have set of 86 350x wheels I'll put trail tires on. I need to gather up all my parts and lay them out to get a better idea of if there's anything left I need to buy for this project.

Nice! I feel bad for all the guys that bought the used Hoosiers in that style, they didn't know they'd be remade...

    Popular tire!

Little update, I got the swingarm back from chrome. I also had the shock rebuilt by Ron Elmore (aka rocket ron). I roughly assembled everything to get an idea of what I'm still missing and what needs to be powder coated.

The plating was done by Shelbyville plating. The parts I used is a RAD billet carrier with tapered bearings I picked up years ago, a durablue eliminator axle, Galfer blue brake hoses, BDT blue hose clamps, a white chain slider made by Louis Mielke (plan B racing) and white delrin pivot bushings made buy Bryan Mulligan.

I'm super pumped to make some forward progress on this project. It's taken lots of $$$$ to get to this point but this helps keep the motivation up. I hope you all enjoy!

Just read the whole thread, great to see it’s really starting to come together the swing arms looking great, I love all the old school parts you’ve managed to score, especially the front fork brace . Let ok’ing forward to this being completed.

86 200x is a great trike.Iv been getting mine fixed up to be more reliable. I had a Hella time getting a bearing carrier. Looked for one since I got it in 2018.I bought a new from Niche wich was wrong its for 86 250r. I bought a used one that was said to be 86 200x wich was again 86 250r. So I went to ebay and way over paid over 300 with shipping from Alaska. Took forever to finally get it.
