    New 200e and 110.

    Hi 3 wheeler world!
    It's been a long time since I've posted. Life got to busy and expensive for toys for a while. But recently got the itch and picked up a few new ones.

    The 82 atc200e when I bought it had recently been rebuilt, new exhaust, new rear tires, new carrier bearings, then it lost spark. I put a new magneto and CDI in and now runs great. The magneto was its main issue as it was damaged. One question for it is with the new CDI it doesn't want to idle after a few seconds. Prior to the CDI it would idle all day. I'm assuming it's carb adjustments but did not expect that. Is that common? It's a Chinese CDI that I read about on a thread here.

    2nd bike is a atc110 that appears mostly all original. It needs a new top end, but does run. Smokes like a burning tire and low on power. I thought about trying to buy a new top end since there are so many Chinese/tawianese parts out there, but not sure if that will work now after reading some. Boring the stock cylinder out I guess is my best bet. Plan on taking the engine out today. Just ordered new tires for it.

    Last bike is a 1987 xr200r. I've been wanting one for a long time and got a great deal on it.

    I've been lurking for a few days, nice to see so many old familiar names.

    More on the 200e. I had some teeth pulled this week, so while on pain med euphoria I likely over spent on stuff I didn't really need. But ordered a new fiberglass fender set, new front tire, new battery, new uni pod filter, a 200es seat pan, new decal set, and new seat cover. Now that I ordered that stuff, I realize I kinda like how it looks now. But working on them has always been my favorite part.

    The front end is from a 200s I believe, which so far I really like. My brother in law's 200es is at my house (can see the front of it in dirt bike pic), and when compared to mine, the 200s front makes a big difference in how it drives. The DG exhaust it came with sounds really good, which I didn't honestly expect. I'll post more pics as I start to work on them.

    One additional comment to the CDI question, I replaced it because once after replacing the magneto it breifly didn't have spark again after a few successful rides. I took apart the kill switch, cleaned it, sanded the fuse contacts, and checked the wiring, spark returned and has been fine since. But knowing a dying CDI can cause intermittent spark issues, I replaced it. With the new CDI it does seem to have slightly better power, but the idle really kinda has me confused. The idle speed is great, don't feel like it can go any higher without starting to engage the clutch. But it acts like it runs out of gas when at idle. Otherwise very happy with how it's running.

    Update on the 110. Cylinder is getting bored and valve job on the head. Finding a piston for it was very hard. The machine shop recommended .030, but I couldn't find one. So going with a .050 piston. Started taking the wheels apart, that turned out to be a cluster.

    It's not gonna be any kind of show piece, but hope to make it a fun rider. So ordered 3 new wheels, new tires, new front sprocket and chain, spark plug, filter, fuel lines, carb kit, seat cover, and gasket set. Once I get the engine parts back it I will get it all back together. The brakes and bearings all seem good. Looking forward to getting it done.

    It's fun to fix em up, that's for sure. My advice would be to try to fix the split rims if you can. You can take em to get powder coated for the cost of some cheap aluminum rims that bend easy. Or get someone to sand blast and them yourself. I did that and now I can fix my own tire leaks easily without taking them into the tire shop. Too hard to get tires on the bendy aluminum rims for me. Looks good tho, have fun!

    I got three steel AMS wheels for $108 shipped. I didn't think that was too bad. The one wheel that is bad I don't see how it could be fixed. Lots big rust flakes.

    Got the 110 set.
    Recap:
    Recovered seat
    Engine bored .050 over with new piston and valves
    New wheels and tires
    Replaced fuel lines, air filter, and spark plug
    Painted exhaust
    Replaced drive sprocket
    Had to grind off chain tensioner and reweld, PO welded it.

    It now runs and rides great. Fun little machine.
