Dunno what u are doing to your mirror but I like the use of coban
Nico Suave brand mirror covers?
Are you running dope?
Never thought of that, but who would ever look under those covers? Great idea!
Anyway, they are on there permanently now. Some little sh*t stole the mirrors and covers off my truck, so I’m installing the mandatory Mexican issue mirror “candados” and glueing the covers on with windshield adhesive.
I always do this with every new vehicle, but it never fails that they hit me before I have a chance to install them. This is at least he forth set I’ve had stolen down here.

You mean those mirror covers are Mexican issue? The frames?
Why do they require them by law?
They are reinforced fiberglass rings that are made to fit inside the stock frame and prevent the mirror from being removed without breaking it. They make them here in the city at the same places that sell you back your stolen mirrors. Over the years I've seem them go from being nasty, porous, ill filling fuzzy fiberglass to almost perfect. You can even get them at the car dealerships now, but they cost a lot more there. They will install them right on the street when you buy them, but I like to take them home and fill the bigger imperfections, drill drain holes and paint them first.
They are "mandatory" because without them you'll be lucky to retain your mirrors for more than a few weeks. I've had them stolen in broad daylight, parking lots and in front of my house (as I was yelling at my dogs to STFU). Got to see an attempted theft first hand a couple years back when I stopped for subs in a decent part of town and while I was inside waiting to place my order a car pulled up behind my wife's ML that I'd parked right in front to the window and a well dress guy in his 40's jumped out of the passenger seat, and ran up to the mirror, but when he got right up to it and saw that I had protectors on it, he glanced up at me, spun around and ran back to the car and they peeled out. Blew my mind that it's not just punk kids doing this.

Stealing people's mirrors to resell? Wow
I sense a level of desperation in the organized thievery down there....effin' mirrors....steal anything that isn't nailed or glued down.
"Unless you never want to see behind your vehicle ever again, esè, you'll bring 2000 pesos down here to Emilio's Garage and Taqueria!"....."and no federales, por favor"

I still don't understand what is going on with these mirrors. From what I can tell, people are stealing only the covers or something? I don't understand the fix either. I read and re-read your posts Nico, and I still don't understand, lol.
