Picked up my frame from the powder coater today. A few flaws where the powder was too heavy and just started to run, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out. That being said, I'm a bit hesitant to let them do the swingarm.

I like how he included his resume in the eBay description.

    SELLER BACKGROUND

I was a local Southern California Pro Motocross racer in the mid and late 70's. In the early 80's I got a job as a project engineer in the R & D department at Kawasaki Motors International where I did test riding, engineering, fabrication, and overall development of off road bikes, and atv's. I did virtually every second of the development testing of the 84, 85, and 86 Tecate's during this time.

I also raced in the Pro class with the 84 pre-production Tecate that we used for testing which I modified with just a Harry Klemm port job, pipe, and plain old fifty dollar 36mm Mikuni carburetor, and I holeshot and won several races with it, including the last short track race at Saddleback Park, where I beat Jimmy White (who was the reigning champion at the time) and the factory honda riders with their bazillion dollar works trikes etc, so I know these trikes better than most anyone.

So whatever happened to Barnett? When and why did he sign off this site? I feel like I missed something.

Finishing up on a new x-mas tree stand. I put up two 25-30’ live trees at my work. In the past we have always had issues trying to adjust the tree for straightness once it was up. These trees weigh between 5-600 pounds so once they were up in the previous stand I designed it was almost impossible to adjust them. Click image for larger version.

ID:	260649 this is last year stand. It sat on a base that was hinged. In theory you slide the trunk in, walk it up, and lock into place. Because of the adjustment issues we had I decided that an independent adjustable leg system would work best, put together with hitch pins for easy assembly and adjusting. ID:	260650 this is what we came up with. We in theory should be able to adjust for straightness one of two ways By either the adjusting holes in the legs itself or by the turnbuckle. Here is the nearly finished design. Click image for larger version.

ID:	260651 I figure the only way this will really work is if I can hoist the trees and suspend them so I can get everything straight before lowering it to the ground. I am fortunate enough to have a structural beam running above where I need to stand these trees, so I’m thinking a electric hoist will do the job. Once everything is in place and straight we will attach the turnbuckle and cable and bolt the foot end to Two 3/4” pieces of plywood screwed together with carpet attached to the underneath so we can slide de the trees into place once the lights are on.

I think he got the boot no??

What's more of a mystery is Glamy. I think all of his posts went bye bye and so did he......with the exception of the occasional likes and dislikes he leaves

Got the ram/crane truck and cj5 undercoated today
Fluid film was a bit thick at 60 deg, warmed up to 90-100 to be able to pour in spray containers
1 gallon gave good coverage for all 3 vehicles (2/3 went on crane)

    Plastico,
Fluid film? What is that stuff? Is it like a permanent undercoating or something that you apply yearly? If permanent are you not concerned it will lock in place any dirt or rust that is already there?
