Back from vacation, I LOVE the quadractor, I've got a coot (major project) and a cat-a-gator. The gator is a runner but it breaks every other time you use it. Guess that's why it came with a pallet of spare parts!

At my brother's house in Ormond Beach for the holidays. Chillin' at a bar in Ponce Inlet (?) on Christmas day. There's a really old lighthouse across the street.

It was really hard to leave this place and go home.

As stated in post #2935 of this thread, we decided to head out for an outing in the afternoon. The ice formed very rough this year and with little snow makes for a jolting ride. I guess the 54 year old weld that joins the front wheel yoke to the tiller bar on the "tri-x-side" had had enough abuse over the years and sent me in to a nose dive onto the ice when the front wheel exited stage left. Luckily we were going slow due to the rough conditions and we were only a few miles from home by then. I had to secure the front onto the quad and reverse all the way home dragging the poor girl suspended in the air. There doesn't seem to be much other damage so with a little help from my son samjp22, we'll have her back on 3 in no time......I hope!

Welcome back 90. Almost bought a coot a month or so ago. Owner had put a diesel single in it. Shook so bad it would make u nauseous. I passed

Update

Managed to remove the liner, some very nice workmanship went into that thing. I guess I’m going to build one out of stainless steel, but I’ll never be able to duplicate the tin work that went into making the original tub.



Seems in the process that I displaced a small ant colony. Still not sure exactly where they are, they keep popping up out of nooks and crannies all over the place on this thing.

Plastic, I was thinking of putting a single cylinder Myanmar diesel in mine, not if it shakes that bad. Suppose I could make some sort of rubber mount for it like a HD.

Spent my day dissecting a grease trap at a school, I've put in 13 of them this summer, and so far this one is the worst yet. Super tight area, has to be in operation on monday for school. Fun fun.

You guys taking about single banger Diesel engines reminded me of a machine called a Pasquali that a guy I worked for had. That thing was the most obnoxious beast I’ve ever driven, but it pulled like no other single I’ve ever been around.

Had one w front plow. Mechanical steer so you had to be careful off-road. A dip or rock could force the machine to articulate and violently turn the steering wheel resulting in a broken hand. Still fun though. I was looking at one last week.

His was set up to till. It did that very well, but driving it from A to B was a chore. Power steering would have been nice.

Added a 2017 KLR650 to my fleet.

I've been wanting a dual sport bike for a little while. I was seriously considering the Africa Twin but am a little turned off of the new adventure lineup. They all seem to be morbidly obese street bikes with 7 inches of travel .....with modes for this and that and abs, traction control, etc.. My old DR650 took me 117000 miles without all the hoopla so I wanted something I could relate to. Got a killer deal on it with only 1800 miles on the clock. Unlike other models with their horribly overpriced aftermarket accessories the KLR enjoys a massive aftermarket that's plentiful and on average under half the cost of its competitors.

Nice Knapp’s, I’m digging the satin finish look to it. I’m guessing you have plenty of places to enjoy the full capabilities of the bike.

Another one ready for sale. Hoping it will be going to a young kid.
We walked away from this one earlier this year just couldn’t get it to run right. Dug it out today and came to the conclusion it was a weak ground.

The limited riding I've done on it really feels perfect for my needs.

Me and my oldest son have been wanting to take a nice long adventure trip and he is going to pick up a KlR as well. We were thinking from TJ Mexico to Canada. We would need at least 3 weeks but could make it a 2 week trip. My son is a school teacher so although he does summer school he could opt out and have nearly 3 months off in the summer for the trip. I could not. Not only that I hate riding in the summer...just too dang hot.
