I recall a Ski-Doo Elan, or something like that and then there were the single ski, dual track beasts guys would use to drag Moose out of the bush.
My friend has a pile of Elans, singles, duals, all years made and I ride with him at times; but with all things old, we always have to tinker on the trail at some point. And why does one's junk smell like 2 stroke gas when riding those things, lol. I almost popped on one of the single ski, dual track bombies last year then shook my head. We used them in the army and I still shudder at the work involved when they get stuck.

Knappy, I'm going to look for that brand locally to see what we pay up here, I bet it's double if not more!

If you are paying more in the country of origin that he is for imported pizza it’s called dumping and it’s illegal. I’m not sure what you could call such a scandal, but Pizza-gate has been taken.

I had a couple evinrude skeeters we nicknamed ol thumper that has the opposed twin cylinder, kinda ugly machines to me, but many had reverse so that was a big plus.

The sled you thought was a Merc is an 1974 Arctic Cat El Tigre, directly below that is a 75 eltigre 440, both have the quad plug Kawasaki engines. The free airs go fast, but seems people can melt them down fairly easy.

This year I started to sell off a few that I won't ever get to or lost interest in, got rid of a 73 JD400, 72 Cheetah, 72 Chaparral Thunderbird, and tomorrow meeting a guy from Maine in Lowell Mass to sell a 71 Capri with a Hirth 338.
Still hoping a couple more will sell this spring like a 70 Sno jet, 70 panther EXT and a 71 big mouth panther chassis that should have a 634 Hirth.
Will still have 30+ sleds, next winter hopefully another 4-5 go as well, more projects then I can ever get to...
Question, on that MS 18 does it use a single drive gear, or did they put a double gear on the wider track? I remember breaking the rubberized steel bars on the 15” track with regularity.

Took a drive to the mall today and rode some 4-wheelers electric maybe 3-5mph, actually kinda fun- ended up being like bumper cars. all around the mall except inside stores- probably looked like fools but who cares....there was a stand to rent them like a pay by time thing. 300lb limit so figured what the hell lets do it...

Put some new shoes on the sxs , I know it’s evil and has four wheels but my wife ain’t riding no bikes no more. Plus it is kinda fun.
Tusk beadlocks and tusk terrabyte tires. Also got a k&n filter for it. Might have possibly snuck a led headlight for my Xr650l in the order as well.

I think you would be talking about the Alpines. Someday I’ll get these done

Yep..... definitely evil! How dare you!

Well, we just got a Yamaha Wolverine a few weeks ago and took it out on some trails last weekend. Definitely a different feeling and will take some getting used to. I know I feel more comfortable on an ATC/ATV.

Lol. I actually bought this from motoword of El Cajon. They out the doored me at less than msrp on this one. They didn’t want it cause it wasn’t a fancy go fast machine like the razors or talons. No market for utility out there according to the manager. 22k OTD wasn’t terrible. I’m happy with it.

Here's a picture of me while in the army taken in December 1989(?) in Hay River, Northwest Territories where we spent a month enjoying the warmth, lol. I would say this particular model is around an 81. Those things were mechanical nightmares and were heavy!

You selected the vehicle that fits the riders capabilities and allows for the wife to have proper oversight of your grand daughter, well done! Nothing I hate more is seeing 8 year old kids riding massive machines because it's "cute". Add belt drives, big HP and power steering and it's a recipe for disaster IMHO.

The CDI on my 82 200E was acting odd, spark then no spark, decided enough is enough, time to pull the CDI off and go build another one of my design to put on it. Got the PCB built, box made, tomorrow i will get it potted and put on and no more intermittent spark! Yeah i know, they are available fairly cheap now days, but i prefer to build my own and control the quality of the components in it, they run much better then the cheap ones.
