I'd guess 120 ish. Yamaha is about the same, not really geared for super high speeds, pulls like a freight train up to about 110 tho.

I hear you. Brushes look good (still lots of meat). I know it is too late for this. BUT. I would of given a light sanding on the brushes and contact area on the armature and try it. The inner contact will always arc more. I know I work in the onroad 1:1 field. These things you are working on see some nasty conditions.

Just finished pulling the inner rubber core part out of a mold. It was like mounting/removing a atv/c tire without tire irons (not fun)
I may have to mix up some plastic later (oem in picture) to be continued:

Your right on the inner one.

I cleaned the comutator and the brushes then I polished. When I reinstalled it worked for awhile then stopped.

The nice thing is the rectifier/regulator is built into the generator. All of 2 wires and a fuse makes up the entire charging system so my thought was a failing/failed rectifier. I even bypassed the wiring harness and still nothing.

    I ordered a used one.

I figure i could always make larger vents if needed to fill a spot, but yes a pre pour i can see helping on certain things. I hope its not needed here. This next one (yup green) i added 80grams more mix, it filled up/squished it down and just a little came out the vents/ from what i can see it looks full, i’ll find out in about an hour.
I have to find me a big heavy book instead of these items.

Was planning on a white one but reached for the green instead, oh well.

Edit: much better, this one filled out great. Click image for larger version.

2 down and 2 to go.

So far I've needed to grind 2 bowl fasteners off, broke 1 jet, 1 needle cap, striped 2 JIS fasteners and broke 1 Allen wrench but.........it's all good!

I picked up this yesterday. Not that I needed one. It was BO. Not running. Went up to see it. Took it for $75.00 not running.
Drained the gas from the tank and carb. Installed new gas. 2 pulls and it fired up. Runs great.

Well i was going over the bike for a ride in NH tomorrow, a few loose bolts, topped off the oil (everything is ready)!!!!
Then as i was loading it i figured hmmmm i’ll check the brakes.. their gone nothing left, (china pads) replaced them in the late fall and this bike doesn’t see many miles. So i go in the house search around and find “more” china pads luckily. So i have an hour of daylight to swap brake pads front+rear. Fun stuff!!!
I guess its good that i checked them but maybe its time i invest in better pads! Was having a great day until now.

Edit —- brakes done, front pads are snug (not tight) only slight rubbing on the rotor but hopefully will break in ok, im thinking they will. I hope

I think everyone gives those pads a shot at some point. I watched Tecate Dan blow right through a brand new set in one ride. See you bright and early Shep!
