We still have one of those pump units at the cabin, as well as some lanterns as backups, but we started propane about 20 years back. I love the lanterns, you turn them off and still have a couple minutes to make it up the ladder and into the bunk bed before it gets dark.

    Yours is in great condition!

I found a NIP coleman stove in my grandfather's shed when he passed a couple years ago. Wife made fun of it, but boy does it cook. And a guy can still by white gas at Walmart of all places!

Yep they will always work. The Canadian Military switched to propane versions probably in the late 90's and boy do they work......except in winter when the propane is too cold to light off.....then they suck. Remember the push for propane powered road vehicles that didn't go so well.

White gas is a great de-greaser for clothing BTW. It flashes off quickly but it's best to rinse clean after just the same.

I got a jiffy propane power auger for ice fishing, it was new, got it in a trade deal. Thing would not run in the cold, Ironically. Even tho the lp people claim temperature has little effect until some crazy cold temp. Sold it and got a gas one again

One of the first things that caught my attention when I got down to Mexico was how many vehicles run on propane. Lots of taxi cabs and pick up trucks. I’ve only owned one, a 3.5 ton Chevy that ran on propane. I didn’t much like it, but supposedly it’s a lot more economical than gasoline.

    Good for you.

You're lucky..... some families have to sell everything to split things with siblings. Then the peaceful land becomes a housing development with an Amazon fulfillment center.

I guess we need those things too.

My buddy has the Africa. I have a super tenere 1200. Had a recall for wiring harness, I never had a problem until I got it really really wet for about a week straight..

We flew down to florida to spend time w/my son on his b-day. A 3-hour plane ride is sooo much easier than 22hrs in a car. Still need to drive down in 4-weeks again since the semester will be over to get him. Nice waking up to palm trees this am but its Hot and muggy and this bird keeps staring at me.

Perfect morning rip up the rock, clear fresh ait all the way. 101F on the way back, makes you wonder if the ones in shorts with no helmets aren’t on to something.

I'm burning up in the Arkansas humidity.

I spent last summer in Wyoming and before that, North Dakota. Although it still gets into the low 90's during the summer it's short lived and totally lacks humidity. The mornings are also in the 40's-50's.

I don't envy their winters but I'll take their summers over the south. That $2,000 Vintage Air system for my '79 F-150 isn't looking nearly as expensive right now but it's so hot in the shop I don't think I'd get around to installing it until winter.
