Thanks, all done except 5 outer plastic pop rivet type anchors, I drove to 5 different auto parts stores just now and nothing!!! Zip ties until Wednesday I guess (already ordered more through some jeep site). I’m assuming I’ll need a rivet tool of sorts but yup glad this project is over. These are the plastic rivets Click image for larger version.

Finally did a little riding around my house. Can't believe nuts the end of April. It's finally dry enough to not get muddy.

    I’ve ever seen those before.

My Suzuki used a plastic fastener that looked like a rivet, but it had a pin in the center that could be fished out with a small pick and be resused until such time as they broke.

I had a love hate relationship with them, probably because I didn’t know how to use them properly, but a one time plastics rivet like you have is all new to me. Interesting that is could be bent and hold its shape afterwords.

I’ll guess you’re over 40? I knew what I owned and where it was till 40. Now I run to the store for a tool I need and end up finding the one I bought 10 years go when I go to put the new one away.

Oh yup over 40 actually closer to 50.... was funny as soon as I looked up plastic rivets a picture of the tool appeared and i was like “hey” I’ve got one of those, but where the heck did I put it...
The ole dodge Dakota inner fenders used the same rivets (had to change out exhaust studs they all rotted off) bad memories on that one.
These work kinda like zip ties I guess it gets locked in place with tiny ribs when pulled tight. Click image for larger version.

I got the exact same set from Harbor Freight. I've used it for that exact same thing. Great for missing plastic rivets on car parts and I also used it to rivet plastic numbers to screens on number plates too. I'm on my third box of plastic rivets since I bought that set

Thanks, it really is. Unfortunately there’s next to no time for taking pictures and the prettiest views are usually in places we’re stopping isn’t a good plan.

I’ve been told there are sand dunes near that area that are (so they say) as big as the ones in California. It’s restricted access (no bikes) but the guy that shows me the photos and keeps bugging me to go there says we can pay an “entry fee” which I’m sure is less than the CA passes I bought for the Invasion.

    Bucket list keeps getting longer....

Kawi green finally or close to it, and I wrote the mix down, back to my original mix for the plastic but this time knowing I only had roughly 2- mins I degassed them separately before combining part a+b and got a much better end result- i’m very slowly figuring this hobby out....well kinda.
Mailman came today with more mix to play with so I’m just passing on the pics, thanks for looking (still working on Honda red, more color dye coming Monday)
