not permanent, for new England salt, I replace it yearly. For indoor rust busting or loosening I prefer boshield. Outdoors, the boshield washes off too quick to make it through a season. fluidfilm has a heavy wax/lanolin content that keeps it soft/around a while. good stuff. I haven't found anything better as of yet. (it beats motor oil and a dirt road by far!)

I may consider giving that a try. Here in Iowa we have the same problem with road salt. Do you have a lift, or is that something you lay on the shop floor and do? A lift would be ideal.

It took longer to get the stuff poured into the gun than spray
I will post a pic of after

Took about 10 minutes on my back to do
Gun aerosolized it well an at 100 psi I could blast 5-6’ in front of me

Next time I will wear a mask

It was so easy, (did it on my gravel driveway, now I have a waterproof 20’ square.)

The only fluid I have found to really permanently treat body panels, and you have to apply it a bunch of times, is atf. I've always used used atf on my applications, I have a small "pressure pot" that I use to spray it. Fluid film is good stuff, and most likely better on you and the environment to boot.

Treated prior, (Unsure of how many years but it was clearly treated over some very poor undercoating stuff that was once used)
Holding up very well to the salt

I have a friend who swears by Fluidfilm for spraying his vehicles up here in NE Alberta. Personally I've always got my vehicles done at shops that apply "Krown Rustproofing". I believe it's a Canadian product but has 250 locations across the US and Europe. This stuff is amazing and will eliminate a lot of future electrical corrosion issues as well as protecting the metal. It will actually creep/wick up a panel to some degree. It's very popular with highway maintenance departments for their salt/sand trucks to protect them. It does wear off over time so it's not a 1 and done application.

Picked me up a new hoochie.

$27,000 poorer but me and my wife put about 25K-30K a year in mileage in far remote places so we needed something reliable.

Fluid film is a popular product in New England. However my father always had this product in the work shop so I know it is been around for decades.

We used it to spray down the haybine and baler every year for storage. I just did the undercarriage of our car this weekend. It sure is easier to put vehicle on lift.

I have heard of lps ^
I think whatever is used is likely fine as long as you keep up with it

    Still getting ready for winter
    Battery removal from dozers

With the cold, nice day to forge(shape) the new light bracket for the jeep.
There is a curve that I have to match
Chose heat as I don’t have the correct dies for the hossfeld

Made my own self containment mat for the shop floor. My shop floor pitches toward my man door, so all of Iowa’s winter muck always puddles where my wife gets in and out. I wish I had gone a little longer but the mat sizes were few in this heavy duty material. I have a squeegee I’ll push it off with.
I used 1x2 for a frame splitting the middle so I can fold it and roll it up at the end of the season.
