It is a family members rig...... the last time I saw it run was probably 2006-2007. They found quads.... then parked the trike in the back and never looked back.

That kinda scares me the most DAM.... sitting outside for 15 years neglected. I'm sure practically everything that can be seized is seized

My neighbor Barn was was trying to buy it. He messaged the guy around 10 minutes after the ad came out. He told me the seller never got back to him.

Replaced the power steering pressure line on a 2000 Monte Carlo SS last night (PIA), working on replacing the front bumper cover and passenger side inner fender. Owner tagged a coyote, trashed the bumper cover and inner fender.

Rebuilt a Polaris Scrambler front master cylinder and rebuilt the carb on an older Craftsman chainsaw this morning. Neighbor is bringing a tire from a garden tractor trailer over for me to put in a tube. If that goes well, we might head out into the woods for a couple beers and some deer stand repairs........maybe.......

Pretty impressive handi.......errrr...ummm...sphincter work. I've heard it's difficult to cut something besides a terd with your sphincter, but since you live "down under" maybe that gives you a better chance at being a crack fabricator.

Well I picked this up today for 5 hundy. He didn't care...I just threw out a number via text....it's a family member and they needed it gone. I haven't seen it up close in years.

Ran when parked and I can attest to that but that was years ago. It's going to need the usual. Good news is there's compression and the inside of the tank has minimal rust.......basically what's in the picture is the main rust spot. I remember telling him years ago always keep gas in tank...looks like it paid off.

I'll start a thread later for it. My intention is just to make this a clean reliable runner.

For now I'm just going to order some tires for it so I can move it around.

Went on a drive with my wife today. Stopped at a roadside sale saw the backend of a Oldsmobile wagon that looked like one we once owned. Took a look sure enough I was 100% confident that this was my old car. I took some pics of the car and decided to wait out the owners. A couple showed and I said “hey I think that’s my old car I sold 30 year’s ago “ he’s like no I don’t think so this was a funeral car back in the day. Yep, sure was I said. We chatted and shared the history of the car his wife said what was your name? After telling her she took out a old registration out of the car that was mine along with some rolling papers lol😂.. I shared the history of the car being a funeral home hurst and the original owner and that I might have something to send him. In the pic below are the original window emblems used by the funeral home 😂.
What a day, what were the chances, I loved it. This car was bought by me from original owner. Sold by me to a local guy. Sold from him to a guy in the military. Was in a garage that was to be torn down when this guy bought it.

I hope everyone is finding time to relax.

The lake was mine for the weekend. Some kayaking and checking out butterflies. I wasn't fishing, but there were several birds I watched diving in, one must have gotten a little too big of fish because it struggled to lift it out of the water.

Some mountain biking was in order today.

Simple single track, but still fun and no huge distance commitment or remote location.

This is a teeter totter. It's supposed to rest in the last exit direction, but is messed up. This section of trail is a dead end anyway. You ride up the totter and after center it touches the other side. Typical modern trail feature.

Everything here is done by volunteers and it floods a lot so most of the bridges gets washed out and damaged. No big deal, just have to keep up speed and watch out for the big gaps.

The day wouldn't be complete without the alternator on my truck going out when leaving the park. I started to risk driving home but once I started smelling/hearing the alternator's death I drove back into town. The bad one is a 'rebuilt' unit I got from AutoZone 2-3 years ago. Of course they didn't have one in stock (if the warranty was good anyway), so I limped the truck to an Oriellys a few blocks down and they had one in stock. Yea, I get to replace the alternator in their parking lot. Could be worse I guess, as I've dropped fuel tanks (not near empty) in parking lots to replace electric pumps. I made it home without any other incident and I stopped to buy beer (needed).

I enjoy Texarkana, even if I see crackheads and hookers while getting my Taco Bell on. Seriously, crackheads and a hooker at mid day after I left the Taco Bell drive-thru on Stateline. Nothing new for the city though. Many older people remember Hobo Jungle and way before that was the red light district.

    Super cool.

Been thinking about an e-mountian bike for some time....actually an electric bike period.

Edit.....some ranges of these bikes are really high

The bicycle supply still hasn't fully recovered since last year and new bike choices are limited. The issue actually started before the pandemic, as the manufacturers had already slowed or stopped production because of a stock excess, then the pandemic hit and they weren't able to start production at the previous pace while sales went through the roof.

As for E-bikes, I've been waiting to see a trend of low mileage used ones for sale. The reason is the largest demographic who are purchasing them are those with little to no cycling experience, meaning they really can't handle the bike at the artificial speeds and are getting seriously injured or writing themselves off. This is typically the older age group with higher income. There have already been studies on it and many articles written. I've personally seen some pretty shaky riders going much too fast.

As far as mountain bikes, professional competitive riders aren't much if any faster on an E-bike because the ability to handle single track is limited more by handling than power. The E-bike has the clear advantage for uphill, but the added weight decreases it's handling everywhere else, meaning it's actually slower. For long distances on single track, the range is still not enough either. 50 miles or more of single track is pretty normal for avid recreational riders and that's pushing it for an E-bike in those conditions. There's probably some exceptions I'm not aware of and the option to run pedal assist no the lowest setting, but people aren't buying E-bikes to make pedaling harder (which is the reality with a dead battery and heavy bike). E-bikes also don't typically have the low gear range either because they're built with the added power to not need it. What that translates to is impossible to pedal uphill on a dead battery. A dead battery is already a bad day, but it gets worse from there.

Agreed that the new E-bikes are pretty awesome and now that the industry has pretty much adopted the mid drive as standard, there are more designed around that. I have looked into them, but nothing would really fit my need for mountain biking and road rides above 40 miles is normal for me in very hilly areas which will suck a battery down pretty quickly and mid drives don't have regenerative braking capabilities to extend the range. There's always a change of some other system failure and not just a dead battery. I think it's expensive enough with the miles I ride to maintain what I already have. Bicycle tire prices alone may shock some people.

My 2 cents anyway, because I like cycling and try to keep up with what is out there.

Putting stone on the driveway, so I need a ramp to transition to g tone added height. Perfect opportunity to cover the crappie patch job between the beam and the storm drain frame as well. I need to make cane bolts today .
