I had it straightened then coated. Either it was not straighten enought or it sprung back. Bought a new frame last night, visually straighter and installed all my arms just to check and still have 1/2" off between front ball joints. Arms are straight, triple checked them. There is 1 more frame I know if to check against these two I have now monday. I'm so over this blaster project and sad part I was done! I really think their fixtures were not stright. My 1990 frame is longer then my 2002. Nothings even close to being in same spot. Which is fine but I dont think I'd want a 1/2" off between wheelbases from either side.

I find is highly unlikely two different frames bent at the exact same place per side. I'm use a tape measure from flat garage witch everything tightened on bike. I stood it on end. I guess 1/16" where a arms go could turn out to be 1/4" at end of a arms.

Not much seems to be welded in stright between the two frames either. Maybe OEM frames are ok with +/-.125 inch or more. The area where I think the bend is taking place is where the exhaust swoops down behind the left front a arm...but I can't see it giving off that much heat to tweak. One frame I had was in a bad crash. The spindle was bent and frame was really bent. I had that one straightened and gussested up.

The pic is of my 2002 straightened frame. My 1990 one is green frame.

That’s impossible. Use a new company to straighten your frames.

Not a powder coating oven. Stress relief oven is another thing, but no one in their right mind would ever try to get those kind of temperatures into a powdered oven.

I can swear to the fact that factory frames don’t always come straight. That goes for aluminum frames too.

Hre did it. Normally hes dead on. Which after today's messing around with my other frame everything checks out but is still off the same distances. I had hre straighten the bad gray one. Visually I didnt care what it looked like, mechanically I wanted it stright. He has another blaster frame I'll check out monday. If 3 are off the same then it's not bent, it's how the factory welded them in. I know 200x and 250r frames never had one the same between a few. I helped hre come up with his fixtures to reproduce atc250r frames. I've seen that 1st hand. Just blows my mind that a company would sign off on frames allowing 1/2" differences between left and right wheel bases. I measured my a arms 3 times this afternoon. Either way I'll be converting my green frame to run a trx450r brakes and replicating what I had done to my gray frame. I'd rather start all over and try again then use the visibly bent frame that was welded into a fixture and straightened. Blaster trike will be made out of my titled gray frame. I didnt even want this project but figured let's built one with all my spares from parting. You all know that feeling.

Before/after- limited time and weather a couple 50 degree days only at noon time to prime/paint outside. 4-days probably 12hrs. Not 100% perfect but the elec bikes getting a metal tank and I found/ordered a gps speedo that by online measurements should fit nicely in the filler hole, two power wires fed out the petcock? Hopefully, guess I’ll find out soon

    Nice!

Now all you need to do is route refrigeration tubing inside it, plumb in a compressor and it can be used to carry cold beer. Might be a little foamy, but still a delightful treat out on the trail

    Weather people.
Just once I would like to have our Weather people say “ we have snow coming we are not sure of the amount, we’ll let you know as the storm approaches “ dumb arses. How things go from having a winter storm warning yesterday ( for tomorrow’s weather) to not having one today.
Sometimes I feel like I’m living in a black hole thinking to myself did they predict that or did I just imagine they did because people can’t be that bad at their stinking jobs.

Oops meant to post this in the What pisses you off thread

Tank speedo- this gps unit has no external antenna but all the reviews were good except a couple that claimed it didn’t work unless it was aimed (speedo face) straight up. Well that’s what I have
Think I’ll stick her on the truck passenger seat w/me today just to see.
Problem is it’s power is anywhere between 12-24v, I think the bike motor controller has a 12v output (not enough amps to run the headlight off it). but this doesn’t take much juice.
Fits snug, top is waterproof supposedly but I think I’ll put a thin 2” oring between tank/speedo.

Think I’m done writing SPEEDO - all that comes to mind is those “grape smuggling” bathing suits (not a good vision)
