    * 1978 ATC 90/180 Pauter PJ1 / Springer "Team BAPP" Bike *

Hey Guys finally getting around to posting a build tread for my Team BAPP Replica race bike.
I pretty much had it finished last year but not 100%. I still have a few minor details I would like to complete but it is close enough to share.

I'll start by saying as before the reason I came to 3WW was to gain info and contacts in the 3WW world to help with (4) builds me and my brother wanted to build. In the process we made a lot of friends and have gained a lot of info. As far as the bikes this is the final 90/110 build for us. We've built three from the ground up using all period correct parts to as close to as what they would have looked like back in the day. In searching for parts I ended up with a very special bike from back in the day. The Danny's Machine Works Bike. For the first 10 years Honda had the lock on all three wheelers and the only one made was the 90/110. There were so many aftermarket and high performance parts made for these things the sky was the limit as to what you could do with a stock Honda ATC90/110. After 1980 the chains came off and all of the other major mfg's got into the game and in doing so many other options became available and pretty much left the 90/110 behind.
We grew up riding and racing the 90/110's. I still remember when the first copy of 3Wheeling Magazine hit the stands. I was just a kid and that magazine was like being a kid in a candy store. Problem was we were located in Tennessee and the major players were all on the West Coast in Southern California. We did the best we could with what we had. Fast forward to today and we wanted to build them like we really wanted to back then.

I always wanted one of the Team BAPP race bikes. I thought they were so cool. In fact I even painted my 110 in Team BAPP colors early on. I ned it in my bed room with the door closed. Didnt take my parents long to aske me what I was doing spray painting in the house. lol.

This pic is of me and my brother in the summer of 80.

I will start this tread like the others and post pics of the finished bike and then specifics at a later date detailing the engine, chase and other components.
It was build from nearly all NOS and reconditioned period correct parts.

Fantastic work Joseph, that is a piece of art. Great job.

Re the use of the fork boots on the axle, was this something they did back in the day, or is it a touch you have added?. (Wait, I see one on bike 8) your attention to detail is top notch.

That case protector is simple yet effective

I'm guessing the exhaust is loud, hence the name TEAM BAPP

I'm really loving this period work, it really calls back to another time, and gives the ATC90 some relevance. truely inspirational.

Yeah I should have put a question mark at the end of my comment. I meant it as a light hearted joke, not meant to be a statement of fact. Sometimes the typed word doesn't always convey the tone.

Trust you to know what that stood for, I'm guessing you were standing in the car park when they took that picture all those years ago, you old bugger

    Any who. Good pickup.

Awesome thread, stylin in your racing jeans, open face helmets, and t shirts. Your not messing about either, judging by the body English and tyre flex.

That is what's it's all about, what an exciting time that must have been. And what a revolutionary thing the 250r must have been. I I'm guessing it Took the sport in a whole other direction.

But I'm getting a little side tracked. I'm really appreciating the few people out there bringing atc90s back from the past, and reviving this period in our sport. The custom paint jobs, and the trick little additions that were made to these machines back in the day, just awesome.

that's way awesome. im not too familiar with most of the unique racing teams from when these things were new. but I always find it amazing to see stuff like this done to recreate or become a tribute to what they were in their hay day

Friggin top notch bikes, themes, and thread. I'm not at all a 90/110 guy, but these are just fantastic. I love how you guys were there in the moment and have been able to capture that era and bring it to the future for other people to see. Love the springer front end, paint themes, and bell bottoms. I'm all about the Big Moe, always been a fan of gobs of horsepower with the stability of, well, an unsuspended three wheeler, lol! Awesome work Farrow bros and thanks for sharing it on the forum!
