    What are people thinking?

I have enjoyed this whole resurgence of the atc in the past few years. Being someone who has been addicted to trikes since the early 80s,the new popularity is a dream come true. But I've seen a bunch of ads with crazy prices here recently this one being one of the craziest. I hope I never have to pay this much for a 1st Gen X unless it's mint, unassembled in the crate.Click image for larger version.

Yep. The higher prices is one of the downsides of the trend.

We have some crazy trike prices up in Canada. I would love to get a 350x to add to my fleet but at that price it's just a dream

That's crazy. I can find first gen 200x s here in Cali for about 500$ (rough of course) I paid 1200$ for a decent running 350x a year ago. Glad I bought mine then.

I'm glad I'm in the middle of building a 86R. I'm even happier that I snatched that 85 T3 to do after the R is done a few years ago when it was much cheaper.

This happened with British street bikes starting about 15 yrs ago when I had a 71 Bonnie and a BSA A50. Suddenly they saw a resurgence in the custom bike scene, the whole ton-up resurgence, and the cafe racer craze. Prices on parts and whole bikes exploded. I tapped out. Hipsters made it no fun anymore and of course came The Fall....When the Trendies and Hip-a-lots move on to the next thing and suddenly you're upside down on your investments because the market disappeared before you could sell it.

I think that will happen here too. I think the prices will drop gain once the "fadders" have moved to the next big thing. They may not go back to what they were a few years ago, but I think they will be more reasonable in a few more years.

2800 is slightly more reasonable. $6500? Better be a run once, 87'.

I tell this to my wife every time I go trike shopping, which is daily who am I kidding. People are nuts. I remember when 350x's were $800 and a liquid R cost you a grand..good luck with that now. There are still deals out there it just takes diligent hunting and pulling the trigger before someone else does. I can't imagine people are actually getting what they are asking for some of these.

I was just about to post that picture until I saw you already posted it Saw this in the Richmond area and was thinking of going to look at it without the intent of buying. $6500 is way too much for a 200x in my opinion but someone might have the money.

Just because they're asking for that much $ doesn't mean they're getting it.
