Havent done it myself. Every time I carried passengers on a trike they just put their feet on the outside little bit of the footpeg. I would think that if you could extend the foot peg an inch or two that might give enough room for 2 feet on a peg. Or you could make a pan instead of a footpeg but that bolts onto the footpeg, like what is on some quads. That would give lots of space. Do a search for it, if I remember correctly a guy had a 250ES he did that to.

Yeah thinking of bolting something on the pegs. Just extending the existing pegs won't work. I put a lounger on back and my lady's feet won't reach the pegs. I'll come up with something.

I did this years ago on my Big Red 250. It didn't turn out too great.
I basically used a pipe as a sleeve around and bolted to the pegs.
While it did leave foot room for the passenger, it also acted as a lever.
The extended footpeg worked as a cheater bar and eventually the pegs bent way down.
I see you are thinking of an entirely different setup.
Hope you come up with something better than I did.

My friend with a Big Red strapped a seat to the rear rack. It was high enough that my legs would not get in the way of the rear wheels.

Just ran down the roads. Nothing big offroad.
