1984 Tecatet mutant build and parts request

Well I am looking for a few things to complete my 1984 tecate3 -1986 kx 250 mutant and i thought i would start a build thread to draw some attention. Please keep in mind there was not enough parts to put ether bike back to factory with out spending an in sane amount of money. I would have saved them both if i could have . I had lemons so i made lemonade. I don't think i have over 200 in this hole mess i only payed 150 for the two bikes and the other 50 went for fluids and welding wire. It is all stuff i had laying around or made. The only things i am missing are a seat, air box lid, and a shifter keep in mind that this stuff dose not half to be perfect rips tares beat up is fine but still usable and of coarse cheep.

I started by assessing what i had witch was a 1986 kx250 that was missing a lot of parts but had a complete motor and a 1984 tecate mostly complete rolling chassis with a motor that was blown up, taken apart and missing pieces. My first thought slap the kx motor in their make some mounts and ready to rock. Well not so much the kx motor has a center port exhaust witch interferes with the center bar of the 1984 tecate 4. So i started to do some measuring and found i could cut the sub frame from the dirt bike weld it in the tecate and keep proper frame geometry and only have to fab one mount so i braced the tecate frame and started cutting and welding. I am a certified welder with 10 years experience i trust my life with my welds.

Upon finishing the welding on the frame and temporary remounting the motor i then began to tackle the dirt bike pipe. Witch now mounted to the exhaust port but was on the wrong side of the bike and had the wrong angle on the upper silencer pipe. So some cutting re-clocking and a bit of stretching were in order. The white lines on the pipe are where it was to be cut

once the pipe was squared away i started on the horrible oxidation on the tank using a razor blade and heat gun and hit the sub frame with some paint i also got a hold of a 1986 kx250 cdi off of ebay made a short wiring harness and mounted the cdi and the coil

Made the only mount i had to witch was the front one. Re mounted the motor and added some hose here an their to make the plumbing work. Then mounted the rear plastic. i also fitted it with a mikuni 33 tecate 4 carb i had lying around and took it for a ride. holy cow talk talk about quick. Little hard on the old butt with no seat and really hard to get into 1st with the mojave shifter due to it hitting the foot pegbut man is it fast. So if any one has a seat , shifter or air box cover they would sell let me know so i can finish this beast. Condition dose not matter a little roached is just fine after all this thing is a mutant
