Stumped: Very nice 85' 250ES shifter frozen in place.

ive tried researching on here and google as well and cant even find this symptom, let alone the remedy.the bike is in neutral and the foot shifter is stuck in place. im afraid to really put any weight into it as i dont want to break anything.
now i will say that i had been messing with the shift adjuster between the last time it had been run and now. So while my adjuster bolt is seized in the case and all i was able to move was the lock nut, i have a strong feeling its related to that. its a really nice BR that has never had issues and is well maintained so im hoping its an easy fix.
i have loosened the lock nut on the adjuster and it didnt do anything. ive also lifted up and bounced around the rear end. with it not being in gear , im not sure how to manipulate anything inside.
any and all input is very appreciated.

With a 12mm socket, can u rotate the drum?? Pull the plug and spin the motor just a hair back and forth while trying to rotate the drum...

Whatever you do, do not pull those 3 bolts on the output shaft!!

Make sure both pins are tight....a loose pin can cause same issue as a sheared off. I can see them in the pic but you need to put a wrench and make sure they are tight and haven't worked loose.
