I appreciate the advice. It is awash with broken bolts, a throttle that works forwards or backwards, a seized front brake cable, torn seat, bad paint everywhere, idle that won't stay set, a carb that leaks anytime the petcock is open, lights that don't work. The fact that it runs and drives is a miracle.
Question: What would make 2nd gear so hard to shift into? I have to use all the force I can muster.

I too would like to know as I restored a 250SX and it is hard to shift like this TR200. I am suspecting worn clutch disks or springs, something like that. I just learned these things have 5 speeds. I never got past 3rd cruising around my neighborhood. Once I get it all back together, I'm gonna rifle thru all the gears. Or try anyways.

Have you fired up the engine yet? Don't forget to add the oil (j/k).
Are you doing this for keeps or for sale?

I already rode it around my neighborhood, so the engine is fine. I need to drain out the oil and replace the clutch cover as I put a hole in it trying to remove the lower engine mount bolt. I have the cover/gasket already. I just needed the wheels and kickstand so I can crack open the oil plug.
This is a keeper.

Don't forget the frame decals. And be careful; I saw an OEM reproduction decal with grammatical errors!

LOL. Nice. I know the tire pressure goes on the brake side swing arm and the model no on the headstock. Where does the other one go?

Love your builds. Thank you for sharing. It doesn't look like you powder coated the parts. Did you use paint and how do you find it holds up? Was there any clear applied or just the paint?

Straight ratttle cans. I do have a good local powdercoater but I didn't think this needed it. I use engine high temp paints. I may clear parts that I clean metal with my wire brush. It has never let me down as far as holding up.
