    carb questions 1989 atc 110

just recently got into the atv game with a 1989 honda atc 110 an older gentleman across the way gave to me. it had been sitting in his backyard for quite some time and when he gave it to me i threw some fuel in it and it fired right up. only problem is it is leaking fuel from the exhaust now, like pouring out,and wont stay running. A buddy told me it was probably the carb, got online to buy a new one and noticed that the year ranges listed end in about 1985 to 1986 or so. So i guess my questions are 1. is it my carb? and 2. is there a difference in carbuerators between 1985 and 1989 honda atc 110s?

The last year the atc110 was made was 1985 .
All year carburetors will work, the only differences were the fuel filter location .

appreciate it, went back out and looked again, its an 83, for some reason i had myself convinced it was the same year as my blazer lol. is there any significance in the blue atc110 vs the red ones? all ive seen online are mostly red, mine is a nice blue color

so is it the carb do you think? i was reading somewhere that it will happen when the float is sticking, i pulled it apart and cleaned it all up really well, but it didnt seem to help any, i just went ahead and ordered one off amazon with an air filter included, figured it couldnt hurt to replace it anyways

Did you check the size of your jets, I've never seen an over-fueling issue so bad that fuel poured out of the exhaust. stock main jet is 88 an stock pilot is 35.

I would adjust the carb to factory specs and see if it helps. Maybe the mixture screw is way too rich. You may have a float problem and check to make sure the bowl vent is unclogged and hanging down. I had that problem with a 200e the vent was ran up by the handlebars and the float was broken. Also if it won't run, make sure the exhaust valve isn't stuck.

I doubt even the biggest jet would let that much fuel through without some other issue.

Take the jets out and look on the perimeter of them, there should be numbers stamped on them

when i first fired it up i (stupidly) drove it about 3/4 of a mile around my neighborhood, it shut off just short of my driveway, since then ive managed to get it to run for a minute or so until it starts flowing from the muffler and soon after that it shuts off, i think its flooding the engine.

Most pit bikes if it is Chinese is a honda clone. You should be able to find plenty of info for working on honda motors. On the 110, you can get a brand new carb for less than $30. I would order a carb.
