Can someone point me in the direction of a stator for a 1984 200es stator? I have looked at eBay but I just want to make sure that I get one that will fit.
Thanks.

Will this stator work on a 1984 200es big red?
Also would it be the stator that has quit working. What happens is I charge the battery and it will start right up when it is charged then if I ride at night it will do fine and the headlight will gradually get dimmer and dimmer until you can barely see anything with it. The three wheeler will still run fine the head light just barely works after using it for a while. Would that be the stator not charging the battery or does that sound like something else.
Thanks.

I suggest that you get a service manual for your trike. It will tell you how to troubleshoot your electrical system.
Does it have a battery, if so it might have a weak stator that will charge the battery when the headlight is off but when the headlight is turned on the stator cannot sustain enough charge to keep the headlight bright.
Check the resistance of the stator IIRC, it should be around 275 ohms

There is a problem with the charging system because even if I charge the battery and just ride it during the day it will eventually still run out.
Oh ok just wandered it probably is the stator then as I said measure the resistance of it and check the manual for how to measure the voltage regulator.

So if you're still running you need to check the voltages. If you dont have one get a volt meter that will check AC and DC.
The stator has two wires coming out of the pull start case. Start the machine and unplug the stator wires. With the volt meter set on AC test across the leads. It should read around 24v at idle and around 85v at wot. If thats good move on to the regulator.
With a fully charged battery plug the stator wires back in and test the voltage DC across the battery terminals. It should read 12.7 at idle and 13.8v or above at wot.
Then do a test on the battery itself. Check voltage with key off, then key on with lights on for 10 minutes. Then started at idle and then at wot.
This will tell you which component is failing.
Post these findings and see what comes up. You may just need to clean some wire connections and or get a new battery.

I know its not the battery because when i bought it it didn't have one and I just got a brand new one.
