    250sx Hondaline Rack

Can anyone tell me how the Hondaline Rack connects to the grab bar? Mine just had a bolt through the U shaped clamp on the rack. I just had the rack and grab bar powder coated. It seems like there should be a grommet or rubber coating to keep it from getting scratched when the rack is rotated up.

There are thin plastic bushings that go between grab bar and rack bolt mounts.

I am going to bump my very old thread.

Does anyone know of a suitable replacement part for the plastic bushings on a '87 250SX with a hondaline rack?

I think I used pieces of a milk jug, or maybe some old 200es fork bushings. Either way they’ve held up just fine

Show me a picture of where it goes/what it does, and I'll show you a replacement...

Here is a picture of what I am talking about. The rack swivels on the grab bar and since I just had them both powder coated I would like something there to rotate on and keep the rack from scratching the grab bar.

Do you have a old bike tube laying around? If so cut a piece of it and wrap it around. I have done this many times. On some you need to have 2 layers to fill the void and make it snug.

I've split plastic pipe to make them. Go to Home Depot and check the water and electrical selection for sizes.

Ok, looks like there are lots of options for replacements. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I used the rubber bushings from between the front bumper and front rack of a 1986 TRX250.

IDK, But I assume the bushings are still available for a 2000 TRX 300, they would be Honda, and very close fitment.
