So when I got my Big red the breaks worked great but I have been mudding and in some deep water a few times and have stopped working. Anyone know how I could fix this?

Is there any resistance when pushing on the pedal or pulling the lever?

Maybe your cables froze up. Maybe something inside your brake drums froze up. Mud is hard on brake pads and shoes. Maybe the lining on your shoes is gone. I'd do a little checking.
Start with checking the brakes since they're not working. Only logical place to start I'd say. It's definitely not going to be the starter.
