    Factory circle track 250r

Back around 2000 I came across a 1986 250 r that was in buckets in a cousin to a friend of mines garage. He was the original owner of the bike and claimed he ordered it from Honda with a factory circle track kit. The radiator was set back further then stock with different radiator shrouds and modified triple clamps which aloud the front wheel to be turned almost 90 degrees. All these parts and brackets to make this happen all appeared to be factory built. I built the bike and due to financial issues had to sell it. Has anyone else heard of this factory option? To this day I have never seen another bike with this same set up and am wondering if this was just a story the guy made up.

Also know as "short track kit". It was factory hondaline parts and it demands high $$$ in today's market. Try the search function and you will come up with all kinds of info on it.Have any pics of your old trike.

    .
Honda did not build it that way and you could not special order them to build it that way. They were only built one way so he likely ordered the kit at the same time and had the shop he bought it from install it or something like that.

It is called a Short Course Cit. There's one on eBay right now.
Even has a picture of Tanner - wonder if he knows.

For the price these kits are going for, you can generally buy an entire 250R.

That's not a Honda short track kit. It's the Tecate tank made to fit on the 250r.

I think it looks hideous as well. I don't blame you for not wanting to comment.

Thanks Bren for the info. I had been searching circle track kit as I was told. Short track brings up some good info. I'll need to dig up some pics I have of it completed. I know I have some good pics of the 70 races my friends and I used to have also. Those were a ton of fun.
