Bad crank seals or normal ? Video inside

Is this normal for a 250r or does this look and sound like bad crank seals. Seems like it has a rev limiter on it and allot of smoke even for a 2 stroke. Never had a 250r before so not sure if I'm chasing a problem that isn't a problem and actually normal for this bike...heres a video of it running please watch and let me k ow what you guys think.

Could be crank seals , low compression , bad CDI or stator , bad reeds , carburetor issues .
Impossible to diagnose with a video .
It is smoking a little excessive but if it won’t rev up then its going to smoke not being able to clear its self out .

Can the crank seals be changed with the motor in the bike ? Any special tools needed ? I haven't been able to find a how to video or manual

Yes you can replace the seals without removing the motor , the clutch side is a PITA .
I can tell you that if you did have bad crank seals it wouldn’t idle that good and it would have a hanging idle .
The most common problems with the 85 model is the CDI or just a worn out carburetor .

I will be putting in a new v force 3 red system this weekend and see if that cures the problem, if not I was able to located a good used oem cdi....and if that don't fix it then it must be the crank seals but it definitely doesn't have a hanging idle at all

you can't tell bad crank seals from a video. Only way to tell is with a crank case pressure test, which is what I would be performing ricky tick. As shortline said, it could be multiple issues.

If you use an air compressor I hope you have a regulator on it and set it to 1lb or use a bike pump otherwise you will blow your seals. Crank case needs to hold 6lbs for 6 minutes with zero loss of pressure.

Just pulled out the reed cage and the one side is soaked and covered in clean oil...so it must be bad crank seals..here's a few pics, you guys take a look and tell me what you think l.Click image for larger version.
