'82 250R front end swap clarification

    Okay,

Now I am ready to start doing some mods to my 1st gen R. I am looking to gain some travel in the front end. I've read that you can swap a 200x front end and gain a taller, thinner tire. Then I read that the front ends of the 2nd and 3rd gen 250R's will fit as well. Recommendations? And what do I need to look for if I can't find a complete front end? (forks, triple trees, stem bearings, etc)

I can say for that the 82 250R and first gen 200X front ends do take the same bearings so I'm pretty sure that's a fairly simple swap. Also, the 200x parts are more plentiful and should cost less.

Do not use 3rd gen 250r triples. They won't work.
