NOS OEM ’82 250R rear fender

Couple months ago I have bought this NOS OEM ’82 250R rear fender for much less than a new Maier one.
Seller didn’t really know what it was and thought it was for an ATC 110.

It has never been used and is in its original packaging with 1982 dated labels.
Fender is perfect apart from a scratch at the back made during handling during storage.

It’s amazing to find this NOS part here in France, especially since there has been only about 150 or so 250R sold here in 1982, and I have never seen NOS OEM ’82 250R fender for more than 10 years even in the USA over eBay nor forums.
So, I’m very happy with this find!

    Here are the pics:

Now that's an old one! I've never seen or heard of one either. I bet it's worth 2k or more for the right collector.

I'm no Honda expert, but I'm pretty sure that scratch has rendered the fender worthless, if not unusable, but as a gesture of kindness I'll be happy to trade you straight up for a brand spanking new Maier fender without any scratches.

Ray, that's EXACTLY what I would do with it too. Unless you needed it for something.

These parts are still out there, its just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I shudder to think how many of these NOS parts are still being thrown in skips all over the world by people who have no clue what they are.

I found these big red fenders at a Honda dealer, 88 250es Big Red specific with the holes pre-drilled for fitting the over fenders

Wow, your offer is very tempting.
However I would be dishonest to accept that you lose a perfect modern Maier fender + exorbitant overseas shipping cost, in exchange of a very old pieces of unusable plastic.
So in my turn, as a gesture of kindness, I will decline your offer and help you to save your money.
