So I had to make a metal project for my capstone unit at UNI, so I decided to build some custom atc 70 stands. The rears are laser cut plates welded together with an outer and inner sleeve. The cups were machined on a lathe to match the axle crush tube diameter then cut in half. The inner material for the rear axle stand is a plastic with low friction (UHWPE from memory) so that you can rotate the axle/wheels easily whilst on the stand. I machined some brass pins with a knurl for some aesthetics. For finishing they got powder coated. Here's some pics.
