Has anyone here opened the gearbox to do this or would like to share what to use? Otherwise, I'm considering this:

I just used Vaseline when I had them apart,,,
Have you ever checked to see how it held up? I haven't read anything good. Only not to use it.
Well, moly 60 is what was mentioned on the goldwing forum. Not sure if those have plastic gears or not. Mine are metal with a rubber seal, as you know. Vaseline isn't good to plastic-not sure about what it does to rubber.

No problems to my knowledge. What ever you are comfortable with I suppose.
Heck, margarine is only 1 molicul away from plastic,,,, makes for a darn good + inexspensive anti seize
Recomend by my septic tank guys with the clean out caps and works perfect since it don't disolve.
Thanks for your input, after all. I need something that will not melt and run out.
This is a different application and interesting, nevertheless.

John, seems vaseline will work, plus I've got some here. I think it's worth a try. My only question would be, will it stay put? I'll find out.
When I was young, like 10 years old,,, neighbor kid and I got into modle boats. The you assemble type with battery operated motors.
To seal the prop shaft where it went thru the hull it said to use vasoline. That has stuck in my head ever since. Never had a leakage problem from what I recall.
