I stopped at a big tourist gas station today near Billy Golightly's hometown and in the time it took me to eat a bowl of Ice cream I saw 3 teslas pull into the charging station. I was shocked.

I probably should have said this earlier, I'm not opposed to the forward movement of the human race, cleaner environment and more efficient travel. I just don't think this guy is everything he's portrayed to be. Tesla stock was downgraded last month, adding to a lot of other problems he's got going on.

Musk appears to be getting a fast track approval for his BORING Company to experiment drilling 2.7 miles of tunnels under LA. Doesn't sound like a good idea to try in a populated area IMO

I can't wait to see his epic meltdown. Idea men cant macro or micromanage companies. Interesting that his salary package keeps getting bigger. Taxpayer subsides and investor cash pours in and still they lose money and fail to have even, what, one percent of the auto market after all this time and billions spent? Tesla and Solar City are elaborate Ponzi schemes by all outward appearance.

This new age where companies go fifteen years without a single dollar of profit because "reinvesting in our future" absolutely blows my mind. Social media giants all seem to have a money printer in their basements too. That money has to come from somewhere and what kind of investment firm and hedge fund manager can last disappointing their clients year after year before they start losing clients to safer and more profitable investments and funds? Am I misunderstanding something here?

It's been my understanding that any money Tesla makes gets poured back into "investing in the company's future" by constantly reinvesting in upgrades and new automation or building charging stations or developing battery technology, blah, blah, blah. On top of "reinvesting any profits", they borrow even more money on top of what they already owe...if Zuckerberg can IPO at a thoroughly bloated valuation he pulled out of his arse without any real data to back it up, who's to say that Musk is truly reinvesting all these "profits" rather than just spreading money around to his buddies and cousin and brother? Who's to say he's not lying thru his teeth? .....it's like a John Prine song.... "there's a hole in Elons pocket where all the money goes"

"Reinvesting in our future" really means Elon bought another house....to entertain future guests and investors and probably got to write it off because his dining room seats 200 ppl like Bill Gates' house and is therefore a "business expense"

How many investors are REALLY looking at the books and demanding the accountability? The whole damn thing is built, and profits or loses, based on faith and trust. It's like legalized gambling except casinos don't have the SEC

And why did the SEC go after Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos so quickly for basically being only slightly more full of shyte than Musk but hasn't even blinked an eye at Elons pyramid schemery?

Maybe Holmes was a Republican (my own paranoia) or maybe, she ripped off big time players like Madoff did.....haha "Madoff because he Made-off with yer money"....sorry, I got distracted in stream of consciousness

And regarding Theranos, outside of the whole "She's a self made billionaire woman therefore Girl Power" thing, the media gave Theranos and Holmes nowhere near the benefit of the doubt that they afford to God Musk. Most media and financial coverage has started with "despite only profiting in one Q in 15 yrs" and ending with "but it will all get better and naysayers and short sellers will be sorry just like that one time with __________ Incorporated"....the Musk worship is sickening with everyone riding his dick and looking the other way.

How is taking $1000 deposit on a car from thousands of people (over $1 billion in deposits worth) and failing to deliver month after promised month NOT fraud?

And I wish the media would quit saying "but Amazon" because Amazon was a totally different model and sold products that someone else was already manufacturing and had already continually reinvested in before Amazon came along. Those two are NOT the same thing and besides that, Bezos is running circles around Musk in profitability.

I have a terrible grasp on the investment world and how it works so maybe someone who knows more than I can explain this to me because it all looks like bull dookie where some of these people are concerned.

If he does indeed succeed, it's only proof that if you throw enough money at a market that was already established, you can get your foot in the door and make money eventually. We all know he didn't invent electric cars. Or solar panels. Not even close. He's no pioneer.

One thing I like about Elon is how he openly speaks out against artificial intelligence. I agree with his stance that AI is something that should not be trifled with.

I saw that sentiment come out of him in a video I was watching last week which was a story about why he's so far behind on producing his cars. Initially he had an almost completely automated assembly line made to assemble his cars. Once production began, the Tesla company was having major issues with the assembly line robots. During the interview Musk was asked what the problem was with the assembly line, and his response was that they over-automated it, plain and simple. He imagined an almost completely autonomous assembly line where the cars are assembled by robots. He said the reality is that the human being is "extremely underrated". I do agree with him on that as well as his stance on AI.
