Who can tell me how to effectively measure stroke on a crank out of the motor and without a jig?

The day begins with 3WW
V grove a couple 16” 2 x 4’s .
Make the groves big enough to hold the crank bearings also putting the groves closer to one end .
Place the crank in the V groves and mark on the wood the rotation top dead center and bottom dead center on the board and that will give you the stroke .
