    Carburettor replacement for 84 250r

Hey guys I need to replace my 84 250r carburettor it’s worn! Rebuilt it and all jetted properly and still doesn’t not running right! Even took it to my bike shop and they guy took it home and ran it for a week or so and said the same thing! What carburettor should I get? Any ideas? Will i need to change anything? Will the new carb still fit the air box etc? Thanks Ivan

Carb on my engine is 34mm Chances are you would need an aftermarket intake ti fit a 38mm carb

This is 1 of two Distributors in the USA, he's local to me. I've bought 8 carbs off them over the years. Jeff's a good guy, but certain models have taken a bit of time to receive from MFG. Make no mistake I always get what I ORDER it just took an extend amount of time on 1 order. Not his fault but if your a gotta have it tomorrow guy, go eBay. These are NEW pre jetted to a stock setting, you can get extra jet upon order if needed.

Whatever you do, don't buy one of the cheap, Chinese ones on Ebay. As much work as you've put into this, you don't want the issues that you'll probably have with one of those.

The PJ off the 1986 ATC250R is an excellent choice. I have owned alot of bikes with the PJ series carbs . If you have a pipe , reeds, and porting the 36mm off of the CR125 works very well also. In my opinion a 38mm hurts a trail ridden or even mildly track ridden 250cc ATC or quad but excellent choice for all out dune or drag use. Off the top of my head the pilot was 42, main 145 , mid clip position for the 34mm PJ I put on my 1982 air cooled 250r. Everything is stock on it.

I have seen good results with the Chinese knock off PJ if the Kehin jets and needle are used but I refuse to use them just by principal.
