Hello all just a couple questions

Hi all I recently picked up a pair of honda 200s. One of them is an 85 couldn't believe it blows no smoke and rides like a champ. The second is what I believe to be a late 70s model which brings me to my first question what model years did honda use solid front forks? The machine itself looks much bigger than the 85 and before anyone asks no there isn't a factory sticker up by the forks with the model year or anything like that.
My second question is concerning the motor in the 70s trike it does have compression but I figured I would rear it down and put in New rings and give it a valve job. I was thinking of boreing it for a little more power how many over can I have it bored out to? Any help on this would be very much appreciated thanks.

The solid front fork machine would have to be 1980 to 1982 if it is indeed a 185/200. what size are the tires, 22 or 25"? That would help determine the model better. As for the engine if its a 185 it can be bored 4mm over if its a 200 then 2mm over, however I wouldn't recommend going full over right off the bat. Just bore to the size it needs to clean it up, put a 200x piston in it (which if it's a 185 requires a 2mm overbore to make it the same bore as the 200 but it still has plenty of cylinder thickness at that point), put a 1986-2002 xr200 cam in it an a genuine 200x carb. All that should wake it up quite a bit.

    1985 ATC200S: 84 200S Bottem end, 200x Head, 200x Carb, S&S Cycle Exhaust, Wiseco 10.25:1 Piston, Reground Cam with About 1mm more lift(unknown specs).
    1988 TRX250X
    1983 ATC200E: Total Pile.

It has 25" tires on it I'm fairly sure it's a 200 although the guy I bought them from diddnt have much info on what it was .I just couldnt pass up the pair for 500$ lol. It will probably end up being a spring time project but I figured I would gather as much info as I could. I appreciate the reply thanks

Since it has the 25" tires and is much bigger than your 200S, it's either a 1980 ATC185 (one year only model) or an ATC200. They both run the 25" tires and are the "big ones". The best way to tell what you have is to Google the VIN.

Upload some pictures of the machines if you can. I am sure someone will know what it is.

Look at the base of the cylinder on those and the displacement size will be cast into the jug

This is a pic of one that runs but you can see a little of the solid front end behind it

Assuming that it's stock, it doesn't have the correct throttle assembly to be a 1981 Atc 200. Those had the kill switch integrated into the throttle assembly, not two seperate ones like in the picture. I'll say that it's a 1982 ATC200.

Your right I managed to make out the vin that was etched into the frame and looked it up. That being said I know I'm not able to post in the lf parts forum but any of you know where I could get a cheap recoil for this thing not super concerend with condition as long as it'll turn it over.
