    250R ProLink Bushings

Does anyone have a source or a solution for replacement bushings for the pro-link arms on the 85/86 250R? I just got the rebuilt shock installed on my brothers machine, torqued the pivot bolts, and there is a ton of slop in the bushings at the pivot where the two arms meet at the lower shock mount.

    https://www.cyclepartsnation.com/oem...22/cushion-arm

I need bushing #5 in the diagram.

Searches only seem to bring up the swingarm pivot bearings...

Pivot works used to have a kit for the linkage bushings but EVERYONE is out of stock everywhere and some are tellimg me they don't know if they'll ever make any more. PW website says "call for availability" so I was going to next week to see what the deal was. Hopefully they'll still make the kit but it ain't looking good. Been out of stock since December.

PWLK-H23-020 was the kit number I think. The kit had all the bushings and the seal set as well and was about $65 retail

    PWSAK is swingarm bearing kit
    PWLK is linkage arm kit

Thanks ironchop for the part numbers! So everything on-line seems to be sold out or not stocked. I luckily found a shop near me that actually has one in stock! Thanks again for the info.

Well, I've got good news and I've got bad news.

Good news (for me): the local shop had the Pivot Works kit on their shelf and I got it.
Bad news: the didn't have any more.

I called Pivot Works to see about getting more directly from them. The guy on the line told me that this is discontinued and that they are out of stock at their facility.

I've used them in lowering links before with no issues.

Well, I tried using this bushing kit, but something isn't right.

The kit is listed as for a TRX250R, and I assumed that this is what is correct for the ATC250R. The two smaller bushings that go just outside of the lower shock mount aren't right. These are the ones on mine that are worn out. The OD of the bushing is too large for the arm, and the ID for the bolt is too large.

So, is this something where I can substitute the Quad Prolink parts (the actual links) in place of the ATC version? Are they even supposed to be different? Kinda bummed out that I still have a sloppy linkage setup.

Well, I guess I kinda figured out my own answer by searching the part numbers on the Honda parts diagrams.

    https://www.cyclepartsnation.com/oem...22/cushion-arm

Only bushing #2 and #6 are common between the two machines. #5 and #3 are unique.

If anyone knows if I can replace the entire links from the ATC with the Quad versions, let me know.

This isn't good cuz I just ordered that set too from overseas for quite a bit more. The guy who gave me the PW part number never said anything about the two arms being different in that area for the 86 ATC and the 86 TRX. He's had a shop for three decades and said the 86 TRX and ATC were the same shock except reservoir which can't possibly be true because that shock bolt must be a different size between the two models if that set won't work with your 85 in both bushing ID and OD. OD I could see possibly different but they supposedly used the same size lower shock bolts (though different middle part series number)

The bolt part numbers are as follows according to yours and my OEM sources

    ATC is: 90125-HA2-000
    BOLT,GREASE (12X110)

    TRX is:. 90125-HB9-000
    BOLT, GREASE (12X110)

"(12X110)" is the listed bolt size for both machines meaning 12mm shank by 110mm long so something isn't right. That bolt passes thru both #5 and #3 bushings so at least the ID of both bushings should be the same between each other and also be 12mm for both the TRX and ATC models since both have 12mm bolt shanks that are 110mm long. If this is not the case, then that also means the bottom yokes of the 86 TRX and 85-86 ATC shocks are also different ID from each other. I'm going to call him back and ask what's the dealio.

Maybe the 86 bolt is a bigger shank stepped down to 12mm at the threads but that makes no sense because the part numbers are the same for 85 and 86 ATC shock bolts according to both our parts fiches

You got a pic of your shock bolt?

Edit: went out to the garage and got my shock bolt. It's a fatter shank stepped down to a smaller thread....
