    84 Tecate project

Hey guy/gals thanks for letting me join it’s been a long road had a ton of fun it needed a lot of work but it’s coming to an end kinda bittersweet. Almost time to look for another project. Let me know what you think. Still need a couple things but most are on the way should be done by the end of next month

Holy carp dude, wow! What a build! I love that you kept the drum brake and 4x4 hubs! Those are usually the first things people toss.

Looks great. If I might offer a suggestion. Throw that volar chain in the trash or get your money back. Those chains are Shyte. I assume you bought it cause it has green links? Look into primary drive chain and sprockets. I will put them up against DID and sidewinder any day and they are half the cost.

Also, any high temp paint on that expansion chamber is gonna flake from the flange to the first bend in the pipe. Paint just never holds up to those temps. I would ceramic coat that pipe. It will last forever.

    Thanks man!
To be honest I really didn’t know to much about the tecate. Picked up a roller about a year ago and just did some research and finding some info on here and other sites have really helped. I looked into changing the front forks and going disk but already had the stuff PC so next build I will go disk

You got it wanted to keep it going with the green I figured a chain was a chain guess not
I will have to talk to my PC guy and see what he can do thanks for the heads up on the pipe
