    1985 200S - "whining/spinning" sound after engine shuts off....

I have a 1985 200S and every time I shut the engine off, I can hear almost like something is whining or spinning after the fact and then it stops? Is this something I should be concerned about? Seems to come more from the rear and not the engine itself....

It's a locked up/sitcking one-way bearing in the centrifugal clutch. It is a common thing to the 200 auto clutch engines (200ES, 200M, 200S, etc). It's time to go through the clutch system and rebuild it.

Thanks - I have zero experience with clutches on these so gonna have to figure out something - assuming eventually the clutch just won't function properly at all?

You probably can ride it like that for a while. On my 200ES, it prevented the clutch from staying engaged when coasting (engine braking). The machine was still drivable, just not 100% right.
