    Hi I'm paul i have a 1984 200x with valve train noise

I have rebuilt the top end with a 67 mm piston and a

reground cam from web cams. One stage below RACING. I adjust valves to factory specs still have noise. Is it common to have noise with a bigger cam.

Your cam journals are probably worn .
You can run a straight weight 40 or 50 weight oil which should help .
Did you replace the cam chain and set the tension ?

Thanks for the reply. Mine does sound like yours. Are you running a bigger cam and valve springs. I just ordered a new cam bearing bushing. Clean bike you have.

In my case I chalked it up to the rockers being too loosey goosey.

Everything was stock. Keep in mind these 200X engines have low oil pressure so the valveline seems to suffer the most.

Ok! think I'll put the new cam bushing in. there was a tinny bit of slop in it. And start from the beginning maybe run some 20 /50 wt
