I have rebuilt the top end with a 67 mm piston and a
reground cam from web cams. One stage below RACING. I adjust valves to factory specs still have noise. Is it common to have noise with a bigger cam.

Your cam journals are probably worn .
You can run a straight weight 40 or 50 weight oil which should help .
Did you replace the cam chain and set the tension ?

Thanks for the reply. Mine does sound like yours. Are you running a bigger cam and valve springs. I just ordered a new cam bearing bushing. Clean bike you have.
Oh and I do believe it is rocker noise.
Ok! think I'll put the new cam bushing in. there was a tinny bit of slop in it. And start from the beginning maybe run some 20 /50 wt
going to paint while i wait for engine parts.
Well at least I can see where the mane comes from. What trike was it based off of?
Honda 200x frame with a suzuki quad racer 250 front end. Yamaha tri z 250 motor. I think the motor was built for racing it gets up and goes.
