Any WR fans in the house?

    Here’s a ‘14 450 that I picked up in July, and the ‘07 250 that I had before it.

When I think of WR I think Husqvarna.
I'm admittedly a Husqvarna whore though.
    The WR430 was a beast.
I wish there was a way to reverse the kick starter, I want that engine on a 200X frame.

    I like my 05. I'll love it when it's a 3-wheeler

Did this one up for a guy back in 2012. I’m sure I did a build thread, but I can’t find it.

Crashed it on a shake down lap around the block trying to wheelie it for a photo. Gave the guy the bike, but I keep the scar.

Ah yes, the 250 two-stroke. There's one for sale around here. While I'm tempted by basically any WR ever, I'm more keen on a KDX200 right now.

A riding buddy just sold his 2012 WR and bought a low hour 2017.

I was glad to see him make that change. He bought the 2012 used and every time I was behind him I could see the bike dog tracking. One day I got him over to my place and started messing around with strings and levels and concluded that the frame was tweaked. There was no sign of any sort of crashed damage on the frame, but in order to get the sprockets to line up properly using a chain alignment tool the rear axle ended up being about half an inch different on the factory markings from the one side to the other and the front wheel still looked like it was wasn’t 90 degrees to the ground when he was on pavement.

I couldn’t feel anything weird when I drove it and when I would let go of the bars the bike would track straight, but I was happy to see him sell it.

Much easier to ride at low speed than the KTM 450’s I’ve been on.

That's weird, sir. I wonder what kind of hit it would have taken to get that sort of twist?

How does he like the '17? The '14 feels much more nimble than the 2009 450 I tried, though it's weirdly heavy in the front. Might just be a by-product of the 450-in-a-250 chassis.

Says he likes it, feels more peppy, but I haven't ridden with him, or ridden it myself yet.

As far as it getting tweaked, that's not all that uncommon here as everything is rocks with plenty of places to far off ledges, or slam into a square faced stone at speed. One of my frames is a little off at the rear mount and bent triple trees are common. And that's just me putting around. There are a lot of endure racers here that can destroy a bike in a season. Then they slap fresh plastic on it and some poor SOB thinks he's getting a deal on a semi-new bike.

What was odd to me was that I couldn't feel it on my buddies bike even though I could see the front wheel tipped to the right and the rear wheel turned out to the left when I was behind him. I totally expected it to take off sideways when I let go of the bars, but she tracked straight as could be.

Well, I guess you do have much more rocky terrain down there. We try to stay away from that stuff up here in the land of trees and roots!

I dig it. I’m still getting used to my ‘14 after coming off a YZ250 2 stroke. How do you like the front-end feel? Mine feels kind of goofy, but I think it’s the heavy springs the PO installed.

Well at first very wobbly, but after adding rim bead lockers and having everything balanced it’s great. Also I adjusted all suspension for my own personal preference.

    Couldn’t be happier
