    Yamaha ID Problem

First I realize their are various Threads on Vin/Serial Identification. Although I'm a new member and required to post here. Have not yet found a chart or answer that fits mine.

    Engine Serial #
    2HT-012xxx
Its mounted on a Quad Moto 4, any searches I've tried continue to bring up Parts for various Yamahas.
    Thanks

2HT parts are used on many models over the years, that's why your getting so many results with engine serial number. Check the left lower frame tube for the VIN and use an online decoder to figure out your exact model.

The engine is mounted on a quad right now so the frame serial number wouldn't be help if it's a trike engine.

This is what I mean Im not sure where the original motor came from and in my opinion using a frame number never gives you anything other then the stock info. Either way guess I better double check. It has no compression, I haven't taken the top end off I'm working on a Motorcycle atm but having troubles getting the ignition parts. (f x t)

    Frame number

    Frame number: JY4xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks I ended up finding an identification of Yamaha Yfm225t.

I still don't know if this is the original engine but it makes sense.

How safe is it to actually post a VIN/Frame Number to the public?

I appreciate your help, once I get her running again I'll post some photos.

10th code is the year, H=1987. Three Moto 4's were offered, 200, 225 and the 350. Check the jug for the CC displacement.

You can delete the VIN if you wish.

Edit - Beat me to it.
